Offered for sale Binding half shagreen in-quarto (31 x 24.5 cm), PERIOD BINDING, spine with raised bands, gilt and blind stamping decoration, title stamped "gold" in a frame of a "gold" fillet, between nerves with large "gold" finial, fine cold fillet on either side of the nerves, fine cold fillet at the head and foot, brown percale covers decorated with cold decoration (special Publisher plate), all smooth gilded edges, white moiré endpapers (endpapers with paper watered), decorated with 36 out-of-text plates lithographed in color and gummed with snakes (36 plates out of 37: + a vignette with the title in black + front of chapters, initials and historiated culs-de-lampe engraved in black by Augustin François LEMAITRE, slight redness marks usual for books of this period. 1869 in Paris Arnaud de Vresse Publisher, excerpt from the contents (contents): In addition to natural phenomena (storm, eruption. generalities (glaciers, volcanoes, virgin forests.), This book is in good condition with a few defects.
